I'm on the cusp of finishing up with college for the second time in my life. Tuesday is basically my final day in Monaghan Institute as the last assignment is due and, although technically we are not finished up until later in May, there will be nothing more to do. Unless there are some Adobe exams that I could do but there's not been any word on those so I'm not sure if they are on the cards.

This second time around in college has been very different, for obvious reasons. I'm 20 years older, I have other responsibilities, the reason for going was quite different. I find myself more and more looking back on my previous college life with a nostalgia that I haven't had for a long time. I'm sad that those times are over. I'm sad that I haven't kept in touch with anyone that I was friends with. I think some of that was just drifting apart but some was definitely embarrassment on not having a job in computing. The bad thing is I can see the same happening again, where I don't keep in touch with those I've met this time. It's not exactly the same, I'm not as close to the people I met in Monaghan Institute as I met in Letterkenny, but it will take some effort to keep in touch once we go our separate ways.

The plan now, at least the vague plan in my head, is to plough on with getting this company up and running. I'll have to get the website fixed up and actually start putting myself out there to try to pick up some work. I can't see CMETB lasting too much linger after June, although we haven't had any conversations, so that will mean my income will pretty much dry up so it will really be important to find other people and businesses to work with. It's a scary proposition, I'm not going to lie.

I think also in the meantime, to keep myself busy, I'm going to try to design a few sites that I can use as examples to show people what I can do. I'd also love to get back to a site that I had tried to do a while back where I was trying to show which famous people you were the same age as. I always found it interesting to know what age people were at certain points, like what age Al Pacino was when making The Godfather, or what age Neil Armstrong was when landing on the moon, and then compare that to your current age. It's actually 4 years since I looked at it so it would be nice to see if that could be resurrected.
